Rent Assistance

One of the best things we can do for our neighbors is to help them to help themselves.  This often includes sharing ideas about the range of places they can go for help.

Tip

Invite a volunteer to step forward and help you by putting together a list of local resources tailored to your neighborhood.  These resources change frequently so keeping your list up-to-date will be important.  Neighbors that we visit often have great leads on resources that we may not have heard about, that you can add to your list.

2-1-1 Community Information Line

  • It’s always best to avoid reinventing the wheel.  2-1-1 spends a lot of time on collecting, organizing and maintaining the latest referral information, and are a great resource.
  • To search 2-1-1 online, start click here to get started with a list of common topics. NOTE: once you get results, you should narrow the results to your neighborhood by entering your ZIP code.
  • By telephone:  dial 211
  • Printable brochures on shelters, homeless services, medical resources, ex-offender resources:  www.crisisclinic.org/find-help/2-1-1-resources-and-information

Your Feedback

Have a hot referral tip that you’d like to share?  Or a question we didn’t answer?  Please leave a comment in the Share Ideas section or email Tom Wagner at thomasw@svdpseattle.org
