Census Will Never . . .?

March 9, 2020 By Vincentian Support

The Census Bureau will NEVER ask you for your full Social Security Number, money, or anything on behalf of a political party. The 2020 Census, the American Community Survey, and most other Census Bureau surveys will list the return address as Jeffersonville, Indiana. If you receive a document that looks official in the mail, but asks for any of the above or has a suspicious return address THROW … [Read more...]

Census Info. Update!

March 9, 2020 By Vincentian Support

Every 10 years, the U.S. counts everyone in the country. All residents of every ethnicity, regardless of immigration status, including kids, seniors, military members, and people experiencing homelessness---are all counted as they have been since 1790. The Census helps our community get the funding we need for schools, affordable housing, health care, and more. Key Dates: On or between … [Read more...]

Reflective Listening: Secret to Home Visits!

October 24, 2019 By Vincentian Support

Our home visits and our conference time and space are sacred. We are church, community, the body of Christ. This is our space where Pope Francis teaches us the life-giving value of tenderness, of comforting each other with our words and presence. There is wideness to God’s mercy. Being inclusive, hearing the voices of all lessens tension and conflict, and makes room for the Holy … [Read more...]

Communications, fund raising, recruitment and engaging your parish community is a central part of strong Conference Management. This is not something you need to do. It is something you must do to survive. Everyone: We would like to announce that we are pausing all enrollments into the City of Seattle Homeless Prevention Program (HPP). Tom Kobayashi: The Face of SVdP

January 17, 2018 By Vincentian Support

Way back in the day when our wise and compassionate founders imagined the wonder of our Vincentian ministry, they may well have had Tommy Kobayashi in mind. I met Tommy on several occasions. These interactions were not enough to know him, but enough to sense his mental and spiritual gifts. When you step back for a moment and ponder the longevity and generosity of his 101 years of life-giving … [Read more...]
